Plymouth & District Association for Girls’ Welfare

Who are we?

We are a registered charity (No. 203306) that provides support for single parents families, or single females, who are in financial need and on low income and benefits

What do we do?

This charity awards small grants towards the cost of clothing, household equipment, essential respite break, educational and vocational courses. For example

  • Furniture includes beds, mattresses, household items, vinyl flooring, storage and weighted blanket.
  • Clothing includes school uniform, shoes and baby clothes.
  • Electrical goods include washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker and vacuum cleaner.
  • Fees include child minding, nursery and college fees.

This is an indicative list and other needs will also be considered.

Where do the funds come from?

As a registered charity we rely entirely on donations from the Hampton House Trust Fund.

When do we meet?

All members of the Management Committee are volunteers. We meet on the second Monday of every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov) to consider applications and to award grants.
